I am attracted by the malleable qualities of fiction, and have been making reference to various examples within the Bildungsroman genre, a novel which denotes the development of the protagonist. The Bildungsroman tells the tale of a characters growth within their world and ultimately within themselves.  The novels chosen, fall into the viewer’s collective consciousness and became the inspiration for the faux production entitled Bildungsroman.

These works exist as interventions of a theatrical production in its preparatory state and is realized in various formats. Costumes created from pages of the novels, a script, promotional material, video recordings of rehearsals, sound recordings from dressing rooms, still images. By inhabiting and interpolating myself into various roles, pattern cutter, director, graphic designer, etc. and fabricating the work myself, I begin a new learning process, therefore developing myself. My works play in the space between documentation and the iconic quality of a staged composition, and exists in a transitory state where disciplines cross; each piece works in dialogue with each other.
